COME BACK HOME features twelve original new-folk, bluegrass-flavored songs, including Traveler, Walk on Earth (inspired by Julia Butterfly), the a capella Generations, and One Moment More. Excellent guitar work by Smokin' Joe Kelly (from Ike and Tina Turner's band) and Bobby Mason, piano and vocals by JD Martin, amazing fiddle, mandolin and dobro playing from Randy Utterback and banjo by John Sommers and Steve Johnson are just some of the musical treats that support the strong vocals and songs. The Dance

Ellen's first solo album, The Dance, was recorded in 1987 at Radio City Music Hall Studios in New York City. Ellen got musical backup from a host of fine East Coast (at the time, anyway) musicians including Shawn Colvin, Lucy Kaplansky and Rod MacDonald on vocals, Howie Wyeth (drums), Frank Christian (guitar), Ann Hampton Callaway (piano and vocals), David Massengill (dulcimer) and David Darling (cello). The Dance was produced by Ellen's brother Steve and engineered by Les Kahn (Paul Winter Consort, Trio Globo). Available in CD and Cassette.

All of My Skies
A 2 song CD released in 1998

"All of My Skies" is a musical remembrance and tribute to John Denver, written by Ellen's brother Steve Stapenhorst. Also on the single is Ellen's song "Night Sky", inspired by the comet Hale-Bopp.
